Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

Have you always wanted a more symmetrical and photo-ready smile or have years of wear and tear simply detracted from one tooth or your whole appearance?

Veneers are a unique cosmetic treatment that can conceal a wide range of cosmetic blemishes, such as discolored teeth. Our esteemed dentist, Dr. Bryan Carlin, has used these wafer-thin porcelain shells can to boost patients' confidence since 1990.

Carlin Dental serves patients in Hendersonville, TN, and the surrounding communities with a wide range of cosmetic treatments...

How Do I Know If Porcelain Veneers Are Right for Me?

Do you see movies or celebrities and think, “I wish I had a smile like that"? Often, these individuals have undergone dental veneer treatment. Because our teeth are often the first thing people notice about us, porcelain veneers are one of the most effective cosmetic treatments, dental or otherwise, an individual can undergo.

If you are preparing for a major life event, such as a wedding, veneers can help you look your best on a big day in a short amount of time. The cosmetic treatment can often deliver beauty and symmetry that teeth whitening or orthodontics alone cannot and patients can choose to treat anywhere from one to several teeth. In addition, an attractive smile can be a benefit if you are seeking promotions at work or a new romantic relationship.

If you are ready to smile with confidence, whether you want to treat just one tooth or several, we welcome you to join the dental family of Carlin Dental. How Are Porcelain Veneers Made and Placed?

Our dental practice offers traditional and minimal-prep options. Minimal-prep veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells and require only minor amounts of enamel to be removed. We can also use a composite resin to achieve similar effects in just one appointment, though the results will not be quite as realistic.

Traditional veneers require the removal of a small amount of your tooth’s natural structure. This step, called “prepping,” creates space for the placement of the veneer. Before your tooth is prepped, Dr. Carlin will ensure that you are comfortable by administering local anesthesia and possibly sedation. Once your teeth are prepared, images or an impression of your mouth will be made. Once your new veneers are ready, our dentist will ensure that they are a good fit before they are bonded securely in place.

What to Expect after Your Visit

It is not uncommon for patients to experience minor side effects following the prepping or veneer placement portions of this cosmetic treatment. Veneers often require removing a small amount of enamel, which can lead to temporary heightened temperature sensitivity. The cosmetic treatment also changes the size and shape of teeth. This may lead to the feeling that your bite feels “off," but your mouth will naturally adjust to the veneers in the days and weeks following placement.

It is generally advisable to avoid hot or cold food or drinks for the first few days after undergoing this cosmetic treatment. If your side effects are still noticeable after several weeks, please notify Dr. Carlin

Aftercare Tips

Patients should follow good oral hygiene habits, including brushing and flossing, to ensure that the underlying tooth structure does not experience decay. Gum disease can lead to gum recession, which can expose the root of the tooth or portions of the veneer that are meant to be concealed. Patients should never use their teeth to rip or tear material or packaging. If your veneer does become loose or dislodged, please notify our office immediately

How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?

The cost of a veneers treatment can start at $600 to $1,200 per tooth. The cost will vary depending on how many veneers are placed, the material you choose and other specifics.

Typically, dental insurance does not cover the cost of veneers. If you have concerns about the affordability of this treatment option, please do not hesitate to voice your questions and concerns to Dr. Carlin or any of our staff members.

We will work with you and your budget to ensure that your cosmetic goals are met and that you are fully satisfied with your new smile. Our office gladly accepts CareCredit® financing.
